Dave's Fun Blog About The Greatest Things
They are so adorable, cuddly and utterly vulnerable. Polar bears capture the admiration as well as recognition of folks the globe over for their fluffy bright coats as well as huggable size. They gather honor from animal enthusiasts for their hunting talent and survival strategies in one of the harshest atmospheres on Earth. However despite their overwhelming appeal these giants are actually in hazard of being wiped off Earth entirely.
Ice melting need to be actually a core focus of conservation efforts for the polar bear as this is impacting the polar bear the most. Polar bears count on huge blocks of moving ice to execute their daily activities connected to thriving. Polar breeds prey on fat-laden seals from these stops of ice, they mate, as well as some even deliver their cubs on them. The complication with the ice melting is that lots of polar bears have gone hungry considering there is not sufficient ice for them to hunt their prey. This influences their capacity to reproduce as well as bring their cubs to term that directly impacts human population quantities. Also, when ice is too far from land, polar bears will wipe out trying to swim a long way distances to discover them. All of these aspects have actually made the polar bear more land bound.
Who Is Helping, and Exactly how
Significant contributors to the fight to save the Arctic Polar Bear provide the Coca-Cola Business as well as the Globe Wildlife Fund. Collectively these organizations are raising hard earned cash to analysis exactly what is inducing international temperature change as well as functioning with governmental bureaus to control greenhouse gasoline emissions. Additional major jobs feature energies to avoid unfavorable mortal interactions including poaching as well as extraordinary travel and leisure as well as defending vital habitat spots such as birthing dens.
Practical knowledge is actually power. Come to be extra informed about this necessary subject matter by visiting Polar Bears at World Wild Life.
The extinction of polar bears natural? When you think about it animals becoming extinct has been going on since the beginning of the world. I don’t think it would necessarily be a bad thing.People did not become emotionally involved when dinosaurs died out. Why would it be any different with a polar bear other than it is cute. Isn’t this just another gradual natural process of evolution like the dinosaurs? Ok, I can see alot of people are emotional about this. I am not hoping the polar bears become extinct. The opposite, I think they are beautiful creatures and would be sadly missed in our life time but I think it is eventually going to happen. I don’t know that I believe the population is up 300%.
The present population is up 300%.
People weren’t around when the dinosaurs died out. If polar bears became extinct due to natural processes, that would be one thing. However, if they became extinct because of human activity, that would be an entirely different matter. We need to be better stewards of our planet and the life upon it. Biodiversity is a great advantage of our Earth! If you are not concerned about the polar bear becoming extinct, will you be concerned about the next life form to become extinct? Where do you draw the line? Will it finally be when humans are on the endangered list?
NO, THE POLAR BEARS ARE NEARING EXTINCTION DUE TO THE ENCROACHMENT OF MANKIND ON THEIR NATURAL HABITAT AND THE LOSS OF HABITAT DUE TO GLOBAL WARMING RESULTING FROM THE BURNING OF FOSSIL FUELS AND WOOD.
Species don’t just die out. There is always a reason for it and it’s always because some natural balance was thrown out of whack.
Dude, It isn’t a gradual process! Humans are responsible for the deterioration of polar bears. In prehistoric times humans weren’t there, thus they could have no emotional connection. However Polar bears live in our era and we are to take good care of them. We aren’t though, because of our avarice for electricity. I mean we need electricity, but not as much as we are currently using. The polar ice caps are melting, thus the polar bears are losing homes. They then try to swim to the next one and before they get there they are fatigued and they then die. In a nutshell, it isn’t just another gradual process, because polar bears weren’t meant to be extinct! I’m sorry to be a tad harsh but on the topic of global warming I become emotional. PS. SAVE OUR POLAR BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has the Power Hitter been added to the endangered species list? The science is absolutely clear that power hitter needs protection under the Endangered Species Act. The power hitter, whose stats have been shrinking since the melt down following the Mitchell Report, should be the first to be designated as threatened with extinction mainly because of global warming, since the Polar Bear.
Isn’t it amazing? They ban steroids… and everybody swears that nobody was using them anyway… But all the homers disappear. And all the old sluggers are declining like old sluggers again. The difference between Rafael Palmiero 5 years ago… and Jason Giambi now… is that Giambi isn’t juiced up… and can’t hit a lick any more.
it seems so..
At the mean time lets enjoy Derrick Lee performance
Derrick Lee is on pace for 50 +
*LOL* That’s Sports Illustrated-worthy phrasing. It would seem so, but it’s not going to be permanent. Hitters will adapt, and before you know it, 20-homeruns will be considered mediocre again.
Bush allowing Oil Companies to Harm Polar Bears, instead of using American inginuity to go Green. WHY? I guess in a selfish world one does what they have to do, even if it means the potential extinction of another species. When the Oil runs out, and those species of life who may have been in the way of our greedy pursuits are gone, how proud will we be? Green ideas are just not good enough… well, one of these days when the Oil is gone, it’s going to HAVE TO BE GOOD ENOUGH. Your thoughts.
A survey of the animals’ numbers in Canada’s eastern Arctic has revealed that they are thriving, not declining, because of mankind’s interference in the environment. In the Davis Strait area, a 140,000-square kilometer region, the polar bear population has grown from 850 in the mid-1980s to 2,100 today. Please do your research before spouting such nonsense bush should be credited for increasing the population “There aren’t just a few more bears. There are a hell of a lot more bears,” said Mitch Taylor, a polar bear biologist who has spent 20 years studying the animals
More money to be made for Bush’s oil buddies this way.
Because Bush has investments in oil and is smiling all the way to the bank. Way back in the sixties, GM, had a car that ran on solar power but the project never got started because of these oil magnates. We could have resolved this problem years ago, going green. I will be so glad to see Bush leave office for good. He is a good ole boy, Republican, and has done nothing for the people in the U.S. except get us in a huge deficit, spend 9 trillion on a war. I am so sick and tired of this good ole boy attitude in our country, it’s time for a change.
i agree
Polar bears, surprisingly enough, tend to be liberals. +
Sounds like you’ve been listening to a lot of propaganda (your parents aren’t, by chance, republicans?). No one ever said that the planet has never been this warm, they’ve said that the level of increase in temperature over the past century has been dramatic. And they say that we know that co2 is a greenhouse gas, so if we continue to emit it, the warming will continue. Yes, animals have been going extinct for millenias. Never at this rate though. The rate of extinction is increasing.
No, global warming is not real. The liberals like to make things up. The polar bears have laid spawn inside the oceans, and that will hatch once it washes on shore, thus creating a new breed of bear. Temperate Bears I think is what they’ll be called. We all know they’re just alien spawn anyways. Hybrid cars are spawn from the dinosaurs, in fact. They never really went away. Read more books.
You have absolutly no idea what you are talking about! Quit spreading ignorance!
It is your fault for the ignorance. The polar bear population is up 300% we may need to kill them back,
It’s about balance ye who are so quick to make rash statements. If the polar bears don’t eat other animals like seals they’ll become overpopulated and eat all the fish which will die out, leading to the death of the seals because they have no food.
Fortunately, few people agree with you. Polar bears are endangered because their habitat is being destroyed. They are an essential part of a complete ecosystem – if they disappear, the entire ecosystem is at risk. Fortunately, some cells suitable for cloning are being preserved for a worst-case scenario, but we should still do everything we can to preserve the polar bears.
Well, we’re the reason they’re endangered. So maybe instead of thinking about ourselves, we could think about all the other things we’re killing ! Of course Polar Bears kill Seals. It’s the circle of life. If the Polar Bears were extinct, then the Seals would be over populated, then they would run out of food, and etc. That’s like saying, ‘Let’s go kill some Tigers! They’ve never done anything for us!’ Animals aren’t supposed to be our slaves. They aren’t all supposed to be our food or supply fur. But that’s what people seem to think. Don’t you think it’s wrong to kill an animal just because it’s not doing anything that you can benifit from? I personally think that’s selfish.
well thats pretty ignorant! without the polar bears to regulate the seal population the seals will eat all the fish and there will be no more left and that will wipe out all the coastal industries which will put a strain on the taxes whuich means you pay more
well what’s the point of saving humans? we’re doing no good to mother earth anyway; am i right? polar bears do NOT have an instrumental value…but they have an intrinsic value, like EVERY OTHER SPECIES on this planet. instrumental means they help/contribute to the environment. intrinsic means they have their own value for being there. and of course polar bears kill other animals, how else are they going to eat? and why are they going extinct? uh, not exactly “Today there are about 25,000 of the furry white critters, more than any time in the 20th century. Meanwhile, the World Wildlife Fund found that of the 20 polar bear populations worldwide, only two are decreasing. And guess what. Those are in areas where air temperatures have fallen, not risen. So, we?re losing bears where it?s getting cooler. Hm. Not much to blame global warming for there.”
