The extinction of polar bears natural? When you think about it animals becoming extinct has been going on since the beginning of the world. I don’t think it would necessarily be a bad thing.People did not become emotionally involved when dinosaurs died out. Why would it be any different with a polar bear other than it is cute. Isn’t this just another gradual natural process of evolution like the dinosaurs? Ok, I can see alot of people are emotional about this. I am not hoping the polar bears become extinct. The opposite, I think they are beautiful creatures and would be sadly missed in our life time but I think it is eventually going to happen. I don’t know that I believe the population is up 300%.

Dude, It isn’t a gradual process! Humans are responsible for the deterioration of polar bears. In prehistoric times humans weren’t there, thus they could have no emotional connection. However Polar bears live in our era and we are to take good care of them. We aren’t though, because of our avarice for electricity. I mean we need electricity, but not as much as we are currently using. The polar ice caps are melting, thus the polar bears are losing homes. They then try to swim to the next one and before they get there they are fatigued and they then die. In a nutshell, it isn’t just another gradual process, because polar bears weren’t meant to be extinct! I’m sorry to be a tad harsh but on the topic of global warming I become emotional. PS. SAVE OUR POLAR BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bush allowing Oil Companies to Harm Polar Bears, instead of using American inginuity to go Green. WHY? I guess in a selfish world one does what they have to do, even if it means the potential extinction of another species. Way back in the sixties, GM, had a car that ran on solar power but the project never got started because of these oil magnates. We could have resolved this problem years ago, going green. I will be so glad to see Bush leave office for good. He is a good ole boy, Republican, and has done nothing for the people in the U.S. except get us in a huge deficit, spend 9 trillion on a war. Sounds like you’ve been listening to a lot of propaganda (your parents aren’t, by chance, republicans?). No one ever said that the planet has never been this warm, they’ve said that the level of increase in temperature over the past century has been dramatic. And they say that we know that co2 is a greenhouse gas, so if we continue to emit it, the warming will continue. Yes, animals have been going extinct for millenias. Never at this rate though. The rate of extinction is increasing.

No, global warming is not real. The liberals like to make things up. The polar bears have laid spawn inside the oceans, and that will hatch once it washes on shore, thus creating a new breed of bear. Temperate Bears I think is what they’ll be called. We all know they’re just alien spawn anyways. Hybrid cars are spawn from the dinosaurs, in fact. They never really went away. Read more books.

Well, we’re the reason they’re endangered. So maybe instead of thinking about ourselves, we could think about all the other things we’re killing ! Of course Polar Bears kill Seals. It’s the circle of life. If the Polar Bears were extinct, then the Seals would be over populated, then they would run out of food, and etc. That’s like saying, ‘Let’s go kill some Tigers! They’ve never done anything for us!’ Animals aren’t supposed to be our slaves. They aren’t all supposed to be our food or supply fur. But that’s what people seem to think. Don’t you think it’s wrong to kill an animal just because it’s not doing anything that you can benifit from? I personally think that’s selfish.

well what’s the point of saving humans? we’re doing no good to mother earth anyway; am i right? polar bears do NOT have an instrumental value…but they have an intrinsic value, like EVERY OTHER SPECIES on this planet. instrumental means they help/contribute to the environment. intrinsic means they have their own value for being there. and of course polar bears kill other animals, how else are they going to eat? and why are they going extinct? uh, not exactly “Today there are about 25,000 of the furry white critters, more than any time in the 20th century. Meanwhile, the World Wildlife Fund found that of the 20 polar bear populations worldwide, only two are decreasing. And guess what. Those are in areas where air temperatures have fallen, not risen.
